77th Independence Day Celebration @ SCS 16 August 2023

Surendranath Centenary school salutes the nation on the auspicious occasion  of 77th Independence Day. The ceremony on 15th August started with the hoisting of the national flag to honour the historical event by Madam Principal Mrs. Samita Sinha .The SCS family comprising children of classes V&VI, participants of various programmes, NCC cadets,teachers and other staff members sang the national anthem in unison and expressed the joy of freedom. The three troops held a unique March past. The NCC troop was led by Vidhan Anand of class X, followed by another group of junior students which was led by Anish Kumar Singh of class V  and a special group named SCS commandos also performed spectacularly. An overwhelming  programme was also organised by the students of Junior wing where they expressed their sentiments and aspirations for the country through various activities like group song on the state Telengana and Jharkhand, Hindi speech by Akriti Khawas of Std V, a dance ( Jayatu Jayatu Bharatam) and a skit - Ekta ki Udaan. Madam Principal Mrs. Samita Sinha addressed the students by asking them to take a pledge to uphold the rich tradition and culture of India, work together and wipe off social evils and learn to live in harmony. She further said that we are fortunate to be born in a free country and we need to work hard so that the sacrifices made by our forefathers do not go in vain. She concluded her speech by quoting `Let`s have freedom in our mind, faith in our words and pride in our souls`
