Surendranath Centenary School celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm through a range of engaging activities organised by the Literary Club (Hindi Department). The celebrations highlighted the richness, identity and significance of Hindi, a language recognised by the Constitution of India. Students of Classes I and II participated through a Hindi pledge, speech, slogan writing and an engaging Varnamala Fashion Show. Students of Classes III to V presented a special Hindi Diwas programme featuring a speech on the significance of Hindi and creative presentations depicting renowned Hindi literary figures such as Munshi Premchand, Mahadevi Verma, Mirabai, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Sumitranandan Pant. Students of Classes VI to VIII participated in a variety of activities, including poetry recitation, word puzzles, Hindi Diwas greeting-card making, and presentations on the lives and works of Bhakti-era poets. Adding a literary touch to the morning assembly, Hindi teacher Pragya Kant Pathak presented a poem on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Ms. Samita Sinha extended her warm wishes on Hindi Diwas and said that in a diverse country like India, Hindi has played an important role in bringing together different linguistic communities and strengthening the spirit of national unity and integrity.
