SCS Observes Jal Pakhwada 2026 30 April 2026

Surendranath Centenary School successfully observed Jal Pakhwada from 16th to 30th April 2026, as part of the Ministry of Educations nationwide campaign to promote water conservation and sustainable water management.

The fortnight-long observance was coordinated by the Eco Club and Science Club of the school. A series of activities were conducted to sensitise students, staff, and parents towards judicious use of water. These included poster-making, slogan writing, essay competitions, quiz competition, expert talk, mime,  special assemblies, and awareness drives.  A water conservation pledge was taken by students every day during the morning assembly to reinforce mindful habits.

Key highlights included a One-Minute Challenge on Water Conservation where students shared practical water-saving tips, and a Parents Sensitisation Drive through which informative pamphlets were distributed to encourage water-wise practices at home. During the PTA meeting held this fortnight, parents and teachers also discussed strategies for water conservation at home and school. The winners of different competitions were awarded on the concluding day.

Madam Principal Samita Sinha said, Water is a precious resource and its conservation is our collective responsibility. Through Jal Pakhwada, we aim to instill habits of mindful water use among students so they become ambassadors of change in their families and communities.
