The students of Class II of Surendranath Centenary School celebrated Grandparents Day, Sneh Ki Chhaya with great joy and enthusiasm, honouring the cherished bond between grandparents and grandchildren. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a melodious Welcome Song. The highlight of the celebration was a delightful ramp walk featuring grandparents and grandchildren in the traditional attire of different Indian states, showcasing Indias rich cultural diversity and the beautiful bond between generations. The students then presented the heartfelt skit, Our Roots – Our Grandparents, followed by a lively dance and speech expressing love and gratitude towards their grandparents. The programme concluded with a vibrant Qawwali celebrating the achievements of India. Madam Principal Ms. Samita Sinha commented, Grandparents are a cherished link between generations.The active participation of senior citizens in such celebrations promote mutual understanding, emotional connect, respect and strong values among students.It also helps children appreciate the wisdom, experiences and traditions passed down through generations.
