Surendranath Centenary School celebrated World Earth Day with activities organized by the Eco Club and the Art and Culture Club, reflecting this years global theme Our Power, Our Planet. Students of Classes I to V presented a vibrant programme that began with a speech on the importance of the day. A student of Class I performed an action rhyme Love Our Earth, while Class II students enacted a role play on the five elements of nature. The celebration also included a group song, a group dance, and poster making that highlighted how individual actions contribute to the health of our planet. The programme concluded with a pledge to protect the planet, with staff dressed in green attire. In the Senior Wing, a teacher addressed the assembly on environmental responsibility and the power each person holds to create sustainable change. Students spread awareness through placards with impactful messages on conservation. A poetry writing competition for classes VI to VIII was conducted to encourage creative expression on environmental themes, and the selected poems were displayed on school boards. Madam Principal Samita Sinha said, World Earth Day activities inspire our students to respect nature and take responsibility for building a greener tomorrow.
