SCS Celebrates World Health Day 2026 07 April 2026

Surendranath Centenary Schools Health Club and Science Club, in collaboration with the School Health and Wellness initiative, celebrated World Health Day with active student participation. This years theme by the World Health Organization (WHO), Together for Health: Stand with Science, highlighted evidence-based healthcare and the One Health approach. The junior section organized a Walkathon with Class I students and their grandparents, fostering inter-generational bonding while promoting the scientific benefits of physical activity. Voluntary eye check-ups by IRIS Superspeciality Eye Hospital emphasized early detection, while a session on Oral Hygiene by Parent Dr. Ankita Singh introduced students to the science of dental care. The senior section featured a science-based speech by a Class XII student, a health quiz on nutrition and disease prevention, and a Zumba/Yoga session highlighting the link between exercise and well-being. A documentary on WHO further enhanced awareness of global health and scientific solutions. Madam Principal Samita Sinha remarked, Good health is the result of informed choices guided by science, and such initiatives help instill awareness and responsibility among students.
