Surendranath Centenary School hosted the Sahodaya Inter-School On-the-Spot Story Writing and Narration Competition YARN A STORY, bringing together young storytellers from schools across Ranchi for a vibrant celebration of imagination and creativity. The competition provided students with an exciting platform to create original stories and present them with confidence and expression. The participants impressed the audience with imaginative narratives, expressive narration, creative use of props and meaningful messages. The programme commenced with ceremonial lighting of the lamp and felicitation of the judges and dignitaries, followed by a welcome song and dance by the students of the host school. The event was graced by the presence of the President, Secretary and Treasurer of Ranchi Sahodaya School Complex along with Principals of elite schools of Ranchi. In her welcome address, Principal Mrs. Samita Sinha warmly welcomed all participating schools and highlighted that storytelling nurtures empathy, creativity, communication and confidence among children. The competition concluded with Army Public School securing the First Position, Loyola Convent School securing the Second Position, and JVM Shyamali securing the Third Position. Special Prizes: Audience Choice for Best Story - Nirja Sahay DAV Public School Best Use of Props - DAV Public School, Bariatu The winners were felicitated during the prize distribution ceremony. The judges appreciated all the teams and lauded SCS for its flawless organization. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem.
