The Community Outreach club of Surendranath Centenary School celebrated Paper Bag Day on 12th July, 2024 to spread environmental awareness and reduce plastic waste. Students of class V visited `Deepshikha`, the Institute for Child Development and Mental Health and showcased their creativity by designing and making colourful paper bags and cards which they exchanged with the children of Deepshikha, displaying the virtue of sharing and caring. The celebration continued with an awareness rally by the students of class VI who took to the streets to promote the use of paper bags and educate people about the harmful effects of plastic waste. The rally concluded with a thought provoking street play (nukkad natak) that highlighted the importance of sustainable practices. Madam Principal Samita Sinha appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers for taking the lead in this initiative and for being ambassadors of environmental awareness.
