Surendranath Centenary School observed Mental Health Week from 6th to 10th October through awareness activities organised by the Health Club to promote emotional well-being and positive mental health among students. The observance began with a Mental Health Pledge and a special assembly speech to create schoolwide awareness. Activities included a Wall of Emotions for Class VI, Emotion Charades for Class VII, and an expert session on bullying, cyber hygiene and drug abuse for Classes VIII and IX. Senior students also participated in a special programme marking World Mental Health Day. In the Junior Wing, Health Club activities were conducted from Pre-Nursery to Class V. Class II and Class IV students enjoyed Bagless Day activities, spending the entire day outdoors participating in games and sports. The week concluded on 10th October with a special assembly and a fun-filled visit to Medha Dairy, where students enjoyed an outing with their friends. Following the students activities, teachers also attended a session on mental well-being. Principal Ms. Samita Sinha appreciated the Health Clubs efforts and emphasised that mental well-being is integral to holistic education and helps foster a supportive and empathetic school environment.
